Guest Bedroom Makeover!

I don't know why but I had an obsession with having a pretty guest bedroom. PJ would make fun of me because our own bedroom was not finised but I would say "this or that would be nice the in the guest room!"

Well finally the day came, PJ was in New Orleans in May for a bachelor party and I decided to tackle it myself. Of course I could not get it all done in the whole time he was gone so he ended up helping, along with my mother in law, but the result was a calming and fresh guest bedroom!

How To Paint Wood Paneling (7/21/2012)

When we moved into our "Brady Bunch" house, things like painting the dark wood paneling seem like a simple, easy feat. But time goes by and before we know it we've stared at the dark and retro room for nearly two years. Finally when I had one weekend to myself I had made up my mind to take care of it once and for all.
Here are the few easy materials and steps needed to go from then to now in a weekend.

Before:

Finally have the mirrors hung so I can share some final pictures. To fully complete the room I took my time finding the right pieces. (Final update 11/21/2012)

Around the House

A Facelift
After two years in our house I thought it was about time to start documenting all the hard work, sweat, tears?, but overall satisfaction one gets from creating lovely spaces around you. Like they say, a picture is worth a thousand words, and "before and after" pictures say a lot....

 Before...

Okay we lived in the "pepto bismol colored house" or even better,
the calamine lotion colored house...

So we came up with a plan of tan and black with white trim. With some long lived TLC our grass came in nicely. Removed some of those old bushes and viola!

Welcome

This is Kate, me and my whole kaboodle. A place where I can come to vent my creativity, and just one more thing to add to my to do list. I have enjoyed the last several years of projects around the house and kitchen. I was always "crafty" as a kid and this will be a new experience in sharing (and documenting) my ideas. Thanks for stopping by my page, and I hope you find inspiration somewhere in this little corner of cyberspace.
